CEO Yuval Koren

Eye-Fi was the pioneer in connected cameras, providing storage cards that also added WiFi to off-the-shelf cameras from major manufacturers. With the Circ storage and syncing service, the company is expanding to encompass phone users, and letting all consumers access their images anywhere at any time — which, as CEO Yuval Koren notes in this interview, is crucial to enabling print sales and other output by removing the friction in finding and printing pictures.
The new photo service has an app for Windows, iPhone and Android that collects photos and videos from your devices, automatically organizes them, and uses the cloud to keep everything in sync. Storage in the cloud is free and unlimited, and your photos are kept in original resolution.

In this latest episode of the DIMAcast, StickyAlbums founder Nate Grahek explains how his platform enables professional  photographers to create branded photo album apps stored on a client’s iOS or Android mobile device, or a personal computer. The service ties the sharable images to the photographer's brand and website to generate more referrals, he says.

Yan-David Erlich is a three-time entrepreneur, and this latest venture combines the interests of an enthusiasm photographer and life-long doodler. He says many imaging apps let you take a shot, add a filter, and then you’re done — but with Colorized, that’s just the start: you then draw over the stylized photo — and when you publish it, others can also add to and alter their own versions of the shot.
The Colorized iPhone app from Happiness Engines combines the power of the camera, and “the creative genius of the touchscreen’s drawing capabilities” to spur a sketch-centered conversation, allowing people to draw on photos, and remix and share their creations. The app has filters and effects to transform photos, as well as drawing tools and stamps.
The iPhone’s camera has forever changed the way people view and capture the world around them, Erlich says, and “we’ve all been doodling since we were kids.” Colorized is a modern, social way to doodle, and “lets you turn the world around you into a canvas or a coloring book — and more importantly, prompts a great visual conversation with your friends.”

Today, “people crave a connection with tactile objects to accompany their virtual experiences,” says private-label photo printer RPI. And personalized products fill that craving, extending the content experience into the physical world.
Now, to meet growing consumer demand in the online greeting card, pet humanization and mass customization categories, RPI partnered with leading humor website Cheezburgerto offer personalized “ICanHasCheezburger” cards.
More than 20,000 photos and videos are uploaded to Cheezburger’s properties every day, the company says.
Seattle, Wash-based RPI (Reischling Press, Inc.) produces personalized photo books, greeting cards and stationery products for mass and specialty retailers. Through its embedded storefront service, RPI says it can offer Cheezburger and other brands a new way to monetize the social photography experience.
The two companies are working with The Madison Park Group, a manufacturer and distributor in the specialty stationery and gift industry.
The companies say the partnership “demonstrates how companies can further their existing brands, drive additional revenue and increase customer loyalty through personalized products.”
